I would like to dedicate the first post on this page to my mum Helen. With Mother’s Day approaching in Australia and a few other countries too, we all try to express our love by laboring through shops to find the perfect gift that’s says ‘I love you’.
Having recently found out that I too will be a mum by the end of this year, I have thought long and hard about what life will be like. I am sure when that moment comes I will begin to understand and appreciate the love a mother really feels for her child.
Although we all love to receive a present, the real treasure is spending quality time with our mum’s and family to show our love and appreciation. My mum and I live on opposite ends of the world. This makes it a challenge during these special occasions, but I know she is always in my heart.
When I was a little girl I would make my mum all sorts of handmade presents for Mother’s Day. This ranged from peg bags to ugly mugs which has inspired me to share some my favorite handmade shopping finds that would be perfect for your special mum.
